Random Plait Sock Smoke - AMERICAN TRENCH - Modern Anthology

Random Plait Sock Smoke

In the random plait knitting technique, each "end" or strand of yarn is knit into the socks randomly based on the mechanical vibrations of the machine. This creates a stunning variegated effect as each end of yarn is a different color. Also, using three distinct ends of cotton means using more yarn - in effect a 3-ply knit. This creates a relatively substantial sock that is both warm and well-cushioned for boots or sneakers.

  • Smoke - a mix of silver, medium grey, and dark grey
  • Knit in Pennsylvania at a family owned mill using recycled cotton yarns spun in both the USA and Spain
